This site has an events list, a mailing list and a forum. It collects as little as it can. Here is all of it, and how to get rid of it.
What gets collected
- Mailing list. Your email and the date you signed up. That is it.
- Accounts. If you sign in with Google we get your email and the id Google uses for you, and we store the username you pick here. We do not ask Google for your name. We never see your Google password. We cannot read your contacts, your calendar or your mail.
- Event submissions. Whatever you typed into that form. Your name, how to reach you, the city, a link, your notes.
- Forum posts. Your threads and replies, and the username attached to them. These are public.
What it is used for
Telling you about events, and running the account you asked for. Your email does not go to anyone else. We do not sell it, rent it or hand it to organizers. There are no ads here.
Cookies and tracking
No analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party trackers. The cookies here keep you signed in, stop the sign-in handoff being tampered with, and run the admin page. None of them follow you around other sites.
The server sees your IP while it handles a request, like every web server does, and holds on to it in memory for a bit to stop one person hammering the forms. It never gets written down next to your email or your account.
Where it lives
On one server, on a private disk you cannot reach from the web. The fonts come from Google Fonts, so Google's font servers see your browser asking for them. Sign-in goes through Google, so Google knows you signed in here. That is unavoidable if you sign in with Google.
Getting rid of it
- Mailing list: the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. It works right away.
- Account: your account page → Delete my account. That gets rid of the username and email we have. It does not touch your Google account.
- Anything else, including forum posts and event submissions: email aellahasboobs@gmail.com and it will be deleted.
Deleting your account does not take you off the mailing list, and unsubscribing does not delete your account. They are separate, so do both if you want both gone.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the new version goes up here.
